The New Pavilion December update – Progress of the Build
The old clubrooms are gone with the demolition and earthworks completed. The builders have now prepared the site for the first 20 modules (the ground floor) to be delivered and set in place prior to Xmas. The first floor, incorporating another 20 modules, will be installed in February with overall completion targeted for mid to late March.
The budget of the build is $4m with the Federal Government funding $500,000 and Maroondah Council contributing $3.5m. The Clubs (Cricket and Football/Netball) must fund the fit-out of the pavilion and we have set a budget of $200,000 to fund the fit out. The breakdown of the budget is as follows:
• $45,000 - First floor kitchen
• $27,000 - Ground floor canteen• $23,000 – Bar
• $25,000 – Coolroom (servicing the main kitchen and bar)
• $25,000 – Furniture (tables, chairs, etc)
• $20,000 – AV system (TV’s, sound, PA, etc)
• $35,000 – Misc. and variations
Our fundraising kicked off at the start of the year and is steadily climbing, but we are now appealing to everyone that has been associated with the Clubs to contribute to the fund. As the completion date of the build is getting closer, we must have money to buy items or to put up deposits. The expenditure has started! We have currently raised just shy of $140,000 - this consists of:
$75,000 - Victorian Government (thanks to Jackson Taylor MP)
$10,000 - Bendigo Bank Heathmont/East Ringwood
$10,000 - Federal Government (thanks to Michael Sukkar MP)
$43,085 - Foundation Members & Fundraising (as at 4/12/19)
