Vale Doug Davidson

Club Life Member Doug Davidson sadly passed away today, he was 92.

 

Doug debuted in 1970/71 and played through to the mid‑1980s. A highly skilled bowler, he won multiple bowling averages, including the 1st XI award in 1971/72. He was also a two‑time premiership player, featuring in the A Grade 1974/75 side and captaining the C Grade 1978/79 premiership team.



Beyond his on‑field achievements, Doug made a lasting impact off the field. He served on the committee for 10 years, including three years as President across two separate terms. He was instrumental in the club’s transition from the synthetic RDCA competition to the ESCA (now ECA) and played a key role in securing a turf wicket at HE Parker Reserve.


In recognition of his outstanding service and contribution, Doug was awarded Life Membership in 2015.
