Vale Trevor King

With great sadness, we share the unexpected passing of life member Trevor King after a short illness.

Trevor arrived at the club in the 1994/95 season after being invited down by his best mate and fellow life member, Frank McCann.

From the moment he joined, Trevor or Kingy, as he was affectionately known, became an integral part of the club community. He ran the weekly raffles, served as net captain, and took on the role of chairman of selectors in his early years.

However, the role in which he truly made his mark was preparing the afternoon teas for the playing group, a responsibility he proudly and passionately fulfilled for over 20 years. His afternoon teas set a benchmark for catering across the ECA, a standard fondly remembered and still spoken about today.

Kingy stepped away from the role during the pavilion redevelopment and the disruptions of Covid in 2020. After five years away, he returned this season, and we were fortunate to have him once again contributing and around the club right until the end.

Our deepest condolences go to his son Michael, daughter Laura, his partner Lynn, the extended family, and all who knew and loved him as much as we did.

Rest in Peace, Kingy.
