A Trivia Night for the Ages With Plot Twists & Plenty of Laughs

If you thought cricket season was dramatic, our annual Trivia Night proved that the real action happens off the field.

With a packed room, full tables and a quiz master determined to keep everyone on their toes, the evening delivered everything we love about this club: friendly rivalry, loud laughter, and a few questionable 'expert opinions' that proved to be anything but!

Hip Hip Take the Crown – By Mere Hundredths of a Second!

After hours of brain-stretching questions, lightning-fast buzzers and passionate debates over whether or not the button was actually pressed, it came down to one of the closest finishes we’ve ever seen.

Hip Hip were officially crowned the 2025 Trivia Champions – but only just with The Pin Pals coming in a close second.

We’re talking hundredths of a second between buzzer hits. So close even the quiz master had to double-check the system to make sure it wasn’t glitching. Spoiler: it wasn’t. Hip Hip simply had reflexes greater than Marcus Stoinis.

The ever-competitive Pin Pals, Team Captain Sam Batten is still telling anyone who will listen that 'Zac definitely hit the buzzer and it didn't register! I saw it! That would be 3,000 points and a clear win!'

Still adamant they were robbed he's already got the team training for next year using speed tests, hand-eye coordination drills, and possibly lodging an early challenge with the quiz master. We support the dedication.

A Night That Showed Off the Best of Our Club

Beyond the drama of the scoreboard, what made the night so special was the atmosphere. The Trivia Night is the club's main fundraiser of the year, and all the money raised at social events like this go straight back in to the club, ensuring our success for another season.

Front of mind at the moment is the nets upgrade at H.E. Parker, and we are well on our way to reaching this target.
