Celebrating Rituja Talekar’s Selection for the U22 Indoor Cricket World Cup!

We’re thrilled to share some amazing news — our very own Rituja Talekar has been selected to represent Australia in the U22 Indoor Cricket World Cup this October!


At the recent Indoor Cricket National Championships, Rituja competed in the Open Women’s competition and impressed everyone with her talent and determination, being named Player of the Match. She was nominated for both the Open Women’s and U22 Women’s World Cup teams, which is an incredible achievement in itself at such a young age. While she may have only just missed out on the Open Women’s side, she has proudly earned her place in the U22 Women’s team - a true testament to her hard work and skill.



This is a huge accomplishment, and as a club we couldn’t be prouder. To see one of our players selected on the world stage is inspiring, and it shows what’s possible with passion, commitment, and perseverance.


This year the Indoor Cricket World Cup 2025 is being held in Sri Lanka. It’s one of the sport’s most prestigious events, with teams from around the globe competing at the highest level of the sport, showcasing not only incredible talent but also the growing popularity of indoor cricket worldwide. For Rituja, it’s the chance of a lifetime to represent Australia on the world stage and gain invaluable experience competing against the best.


As the tournament is self-funded, Rituja has been working hard off the field to make her dream a reality, and she’s now very close to reaching her target. This is where our community can play a part. Whether it’s a small donation, sharing her story, or simply cheering her on, every bit of support counts. Helping Rituja get to the World Cup is about more than one player - it’s about backing the next generation of talent.
