💜 Celebrating Women & Girls Week with Cricket Australia

From 20th October - 26th October we are joining Cricket Australia to recognise the amazing contribution of women and girls across all levels of cricket: players, volunteers, coaches, umpires, and supporters.

This week, we’re joining Cricket Victoria and clubs across the state in celebrating Women & Girls Week - a time to recognise the incredible contribution, growth, and impact of women and girls in our game.

At Heathmont Cricket Club, we’re proud of our women’s and girls’ sides who continue to make history every single week. From first matches to milestone moments, they’re inspiring the next generation and helping shape the future of cricket in our community.

And it’s not just at Heathmont where momentum is building - it’s happening right across the game:

🏏 6% year-on-year growth in total female participation, including an 8% increase in girls joining Woolworths Cricket Blast

💪 70% growth in female participation since the start of Cricket Australia’s strategic plan

🎯 In the pilot season, girls made up 55% of all Smash Series registrations

These numbers reflect the passion, commitment, and community support driving women’s cricket forward - from grassroots to elite level.

Women & Girls Week is a reminder of how far the game has come and the bright future ahead. Every wicket taken, every partnership built, and every new player who picks up a bat is part of something bigger - a movement that’s transforming the game for generations to come.
